About this place
Stepping past the noren curtain of Taisho-ken, an everyday Chinese eatery nestled in the residential streets of Toneri in Adachi Ward, reveals an unpretentious room fitted with round banquet tables and regular booths. The immediate order for many regulars is the oversized gyoza. Their thick wrappers offer a chewy bite that yields to a pocket of savory meat juices inside; well-seasoned on their own, they need little dipping sauce to satisfy. Paired with a chilled glass of Kirin Ichiban Shibori or a shochu sour, they make an ideal opening course.
From noodle-and-fried-rice staples to thick-sauced specialties
The noodle and rice selections embody the reliable charm of classic town-Chinese dining. Popular at midday, the A set pairs standard chashu ramen—topped with roast pork, bamboo shoots, and nori seaweed—with a small bowl of fragrant fried rice. Bowls range widely according to appetite: Kanton-men with its thick, savory starchy sauce clinging to thin noodles, vegetable-packed tanmen fragrant from the wok, or comforting miso ramen carrying a gentle sweetness.
The à la carte menu rounds out the choices with staples such as stir-fried liver and garlic chives (nira-reba), twice-cooked pork (huiguo rou), and simmered prawns, making it easy to order across dishes and share across a round table. The shop provides its own free parking on site and accepts PayPay payments, keeping both a quick lunch and a laid-back dinner effortless.
